The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford seeks a Director for the newly established Center for Rural Health Practice. The Director reports to the President and is responsible for managing the Center and for implementing and directing projects related to rural health issues in Appalachia with an emphasis on Pennsylvania. The Center’s goals are (1) to articulate and evaluate the issues that impact health care in rural Appalachia; (2) to develop and maintain data resources for health care in Appalachia; and (3) to link and coordinate rural health projects among and within the Pittsburgh Schools of Health Sciences, UPMC-Health System, and Pitt-Bradford.

Qualifications: The sucessful candidate will have knowledge of rural health and health care systems, practical research and analytical skills, and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. To qualify for a secondary faculty appointment in the Graduate School of Public Health, the candidate should have an PhD, and MD, or the highest appropriate professional degree in a relevant discipline. The rank of faculty appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s scholarly achievement and past professional service.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Diabetes Health Outcomes Research
The Institute of Health Economics  (IHE) is seeking applications for up to two post-doctoral fellowships in diabetes health outcomes research.  Post-doctoral fellows will work on research projects with the Alliance for Canadian Health Outcomes Research in Diabetes (ACHORD) Group, based at the IHE, in Edmonton, Alberta.

Applicants should hold a PhD in a health-related discipline, health services research, health economics, pharmacy administration, public health sciences, or other relevant social sciences disciplines. The salary range is $38,000 to $45,000 per annum plus benefits.

Project 1: This project will involve the validation of the Health Utilities Index, Mark 3 for diabetes, using data from the Canadian National Population Health Survey (NPHS) including both cross-sectional and longitudinal data. The project will involve linkages between NPHS data and administrative datasets for several Canadian provinces.  Sound training in statistics and experience in conducting statistical analysis are required.  Experience in the use of administrative databases would be an asset.

Project 2: This project will assess the health-related quality of life outcomes in islet cell transplantation for type 1diabetes. The project will also involve a cost-utility analysis of the islet cell transplantation compared to pancreas-alone transplants. Sound training in statistics and experience in conducting statistical analysis are required. Experience in the methods of economic evaluation of health care interventions would be an asset.

The Tioga County Partnership is seeking a seeking  a full-time Receptionist to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Duties include interacting with the public, answering the phones, maintaining files, typing letters and other correspondence, and opening  and distributing mail. Must have high school diploma. Additional related courses and experience preferred.

The Tioga County Partnership also is seeking a part-time Assistant Coordinator for Charlie's Place, an after-school program located in Westfield, PA. Hours will be from 2:00 p.m.until 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Duties will include supervising youngsters (ages 10 to 15 years) in a  variety of indoor and outdoor physical activities; assisting students academically (tutoring and homework); assisting with planning and scheduling events and/or activities; enforcing policies and procedures at Charlie's Place; supervising and/or assisting in the preparation of healthy snacks; and  supervising and/or assisting with arts and crafts projects.
