Helping parents help their children
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announces the availability of fiscal year (FY) 2001 funds for a cooperative agreement program for Building Quality Parent Components for School-Based Health Programs in Elementary and Middle Schools. This program addresses the "Healthy People 2010" focus areas of Family Planning; HIV; Nutrition and Over weight; Physical Activity and Fitness; Sexually Transmitted Disease; and Tobacco Use. A goal of this program is to eliminate health disparities among different segments of the population. Further information at:
